PEOPLE
We are not just a team working together, we work hard to make a difference in the community. What Some Of Our People Have To Say About Working For BKC.
I have been part of BKC for over eight (8) years as BKC Procurement Coordinator in Port Moresby. I believe BKC is committed to making things better in PNG. BKC is very fair and a progressive company who gives locals opportunities to develop and grow.
BKC is a locally owned company, they look after me, their employees and their subcontractors. I started working with BKC as a truck driver in 2009 when the company started and I have watched BKC grow and I am proud to be part of a local construction company that is capable of building the needed infrastructure in our community.
I like working with BKC because it’s well organized with modern business standards and looks after its employees well even though it’s a small local company in SHP, Papua New Guinea!
I Joined BKC beginning of this year, precisely February 03, 2020.
I have noted instantly that this was the best company compared to the three companies that I worked for before.
Safety is paramount and the company does extra to supply safety equipment and provide rules, conduct safety drills for the benefit of all employees and stakeholders.
Another thing I admire in this company is Meeting Statutory Obligations.
Tax obligations and Nasfund contributions are never late even by a day keeping employees happy as our future is secured.
I am happy to be part of a company that is more professional in dealing with employees, suppliers, stakeholders and other aspects of work.
I like working with BKC based on three grounds:
- BKC is a Nationally Owned Company and I would like to support the Company to grow through my know-how, skills and experiences from the construction and mining industries in PNG, particularly WHS and Environment.
- BKC Management Safety Standard is high so I feel secure and comfortable to work with BKC
- BKC Management and Administration is efficient and effective in managing staff travels and paying workers’ salaries/wages on time. Also, the Administration and Management staff are very friendly with prompt responses to workers queries etc.
- BKC is always above statutory compliance which makes me feel secure and conducive in my job.
BK Construction is a small but growing company which runs its operations very effectively. I really enjoy working with the company.
It’s now almost 8 years with the company and l want to stay as long as the company is still operating.
Murumbu Electrical Services (MES) have had the pleasure of doing business with BKC over the past (10) years. BKC management and team are a great group of people to work for and with. BKC is a company that proves itself in doing things the “right” way in the PNG construction industry and cares about their sub-contractors who work for them as they do with their own people. They are a professional company and we look forward to our ongoing working relationship with them for many years to come.”
BKC does an excellent job of project leadership and coordination. The communication to our firm as a subcontractor is always good. BKC is always excellent to work with when problems need to be resolved. The “practical solution” approach and communicating with subcontractors, they do exceptionally well. We look forward to a lasting partnership.
BKC is a company focused on building sustainable projects in PNG and has the ability and resources necessary to deliver projects of high standards and on schedule. Safety and quality are an integral part of BKC that are consistently emphasised and enforced at all their job sites.
I am a carpenter by trade and I love working with BKC. When I started with BKC we had one Civil Engineer and three tradesmen, over the last few years BKC workforce has grown employing lots of local tradesman and an expatriate General Manager. BKC is growing, I am 50 years of age and I want to stay with BKC until I cannot work anymore. I would also love to see BKC become a local Engineering Company here in Mendi.
I have spent the last 10 years working for BKC and still continuing. BKC provide me employment even though I am a simple village man with no qualification.”
I was originally given the opportunity by BKC to work as a casual gabion basket and culvert installer, over the years I have worked my way up to a Civil Supervisor.”
I have spent the last 11 years working for BKC. BKC provides employment for me to look after my extended family. BKC participates in community obligations – and assists with resources to solve conflicts in the village.
I have spent the last 2 years working for BKC. I like working for BKC because they advocate safety and at the same time they pay me the hours that I work and deserve – unlike with my previous employment they used to take off my hard working works and pay me less.
