Mendi Airport Redevelopment Works – Runway Extension Works

The Mendi Aerodrome is geographically located in and surrounded by high mountainous terrain which represent permanent obstructions for aircraft operations with no circling area above the aerodrome. The scope off works was to secure and extend the southern end of the runway by 250 meters to allow for aircrafts to take off with additional pay load with a suitable rate-off / climb. The scope also includes 700 LM of Palisade Fencing.
